When it was our Group's turn to clean the KH one Sunday, I offered to do the vacuum cleaning, they said cannot get the vacuum cleaner out today it had to be done on one's hands and knees with a dustpan and brush. Needless to say, I didn't do it since I cannot bend long enough to do the job that way and besides which I had my best clothes on.
Anyone know the reason for this rule?

We had a massive sister in our congregation. Mind you she disappeared, not sure if she just started going to a different congregation or not.

To Christmas or Not to Christmas (inspired by Watersprout's DA thread)
by Mad Sweeney inmy wife and kid want to do christmas but i don't.
i am not against it but i have no reason to celebrate the holiday.
i'll get the kid some presents, and maybe my wife, but is that alone really "celebrating christmas?

I think Christmas is for children, life is hard enough when you grow up what's the harm in letting them have a little fun whilst they can.
For me, it's just about family and friends not having to work, having a lovely relaxing meal with people you care about and who care about you. I don't believe in the hard commercialism, just make Christmas your own.
It's only stressful if you let it.
Hope the Sprouts have a special Christmas this year, you all deserve it.

loosing it!
by bez inanyone else have any experience of a couple of months after leaving the org...feelings etc??.
my husband has left too and feels the same as i do.. but we just seem to be arguing constantly at the moment, though i do feel this may be my own fault!
i feel soooo angry, bitter and annoyed at how things have turned out.

Bez, my heart goes out to you, things can and will only get better, it just takes time.
Step one, how brilliant that your little girl has settled well at school, she will be able to do all the things my husband never did as a child like going round a friend's house for tea and vice versa. If she wants to join the brownies she can etc. etc.
When I had problems with depression when my children were small I used to tidy cupboards out, that sort of thing. I just kept busy and with two children and a husband there is always plenty to do. They had all home baked bread, biscuits, squashes etc. I found it difficult to mix with others at the time but this gradually got better, I tried not to be too hard on myself.
With your new career to look forward to a year won't seem long at all.
Everyone on this site knows how brave you are being.
